Fair point and the 90 day club plate log book scheme will make an old bike a tempting prospect for many. I'd expect a 1k rise in price when that comes in.

Buy em up now then Melbs.....they will be 10k in a few years from now.....that's my crystal ball reading.....I wish I still had my Z1R MII kawasaki, brought for $2200 sold for $2800 now worth about $12000 - $15000 Doh....Spotty Yoofs like myself who have young families and want bikes as well, can afford rego on the oldies (special interest) and still get to ride each weekend. Have no time during the week anyway and they go and handle well enough hey....= Keep the license, Ride when I can, appreciating asset in stead of depreciating modern, looks better than new plastic blah blah.......just an opinion I spose but a few are thinking along these lines hence increasing cost's .....Had to pay $2000 for an old bunger of an XS650 cause every man and his dog wants one.....had pressed to give them away at one stage...$1000 got you a good en.......how times change.... :-*

These bike will be huge and popular just like the Z900 and Honda 750, just a matter of time. It's already heading that way, the signs are there.  8)

I don't think they'll evr meet the z900 or CB750 in price terms because they were the bikes that set the standard for styling at the time of launch so they became the dream bikes of that generation of spotty yoofs.

My XS was made the same year that I bought my first bike and I don't remember drooling over XS's. z650's ,z1000's , z1300's and GSX1100's were all pretty droolworthy.

I think the XS will remain a bit of a sleeper, but it will definitely appreciate in value.

I don't mind that though because I'd quite like the thought of owning 3 of the beasts and I could never do that if they were $10k a pop.

that's kinda why I'm hanging on to mine,,,,in the future-----you never know

G T O 's 70 to 80 g's,,,,,,,old sandman vans, starting to pull 20's,, look at S L R torana's,

I read of a Z 9,, had spent 27 yrs in a container in some ones yard,,ended up going for a motza, 27--30g's? can't remember exact number but it was lots,, didn't have many k's though

so maybe ours aren't that far from starting to see a dollar value as an investment

that's what I'm hoping anyway  :)

Wouldnt it be good if they got that price.  Would make the price of restoring easier to justify to my financial manager (wife).

I would like one of these, but I wouldn't spend 5 grand on one.
