Yes all types of sump plug washers, as you mentioned also alloy, as long as it does not leak good idea to change washer ever couple of times. I put thread tape on my drain plugs for maxim over kill.

I've just changed the engine oil for the first time. The drain plug has a steel washer on it. It looks to be the right size but I have only ever seen copper or fibre washers on drain plugs previously as far as I can remember.

Is the steel one correct?

engine oil - I've been using Castrol 4T for years and continue to do so
Plugs - I like the NGK iridium offering (BPR6EIX 6637) - been using them since 2003 - they last for years - only now on the third set with the last rebuild

just to throw this in - tyre pressures - I'm running 36psi front and 34psi rear
mine's a different kettle of fish tho.....

Dot 3 is cheaper. Dot 4 works better at high temperatures. Our bikes brakes shouldn’t get to those temps

I've only ever used dot 4 brake fluid in cars. Why should I use dot 3 in the XS?

I think the depth size is supposed to be 12.5 mm but 10 will also do

fork seals 37 x 48 x 10, at any bike shop/industrial/seal shop
boots may be stocked at bike shops,, never needed any to look for them

You could say I was concerned when I noticed  rang the Tyre Dude he wanted a look Took it up to him he said after a few questions about what Pressure I was running. he recommended to increase the pressure. The tyre  was not getting hot enough that was his story. changed to 38 psi in the rear in stead of 36 psi. after a 100 km ride the strange looking wear  was GONE

If i had crazing in my tyres id be getting rid of them

my 2. modern Tyre compounds like a higher pressure heat = traction I run 36 front 38 rear normal running  my rear tyre was showing crazing where the compounds change, trip to bike shop now run at least 38psi in the rear crazing gone.
