The tyre was correct for the rim size and sold by Michelin in the day as an alternative for our bike......when I said squeezed......... I was referencing the minimal difference between the tyre and the swing arm clearances.

You can put the FJ1200 front end on with some changes so you have the tubeless 3 spoked wheel at the front the same as the rear

Regarding the "Wider rear tyre".....would there have to be some sort of matching to the front ?
I have been told by owners with the wide rear tyre that they don t like cornering too much and tend to want to "Stand the bike up"

The wider back tyre is not squeezed on it is the correct tyre for the rim

Back in the day.......I remember squeezing a Michelin rear tyre on the rear that was wider than the 4.50 as specified............and it handled like a piece of shite. Took it off before it killed me.

First is a better gear ratio
Second lighter wider back wheel so you can use the latest rubber and tubeless

I take my hat off to those guys with so much time on their hands and the ability/knowledge to carry out such work. You can only hope that is is an improvement.
What do you see as being the benefits mechanically from what he has done?
