A Bit Modified

Mmmmmm....well mods are for groovers and movers and shakers.
You just have to determine which category you fall into.
If you Screw it up...........or..(my special peeve) ruin a perfectly good bike by realizing half way thru....you don t have the money or time or skills or lost interest and try to pass it onto some unsuspecting sod with the claim.............almost finished.....THEN your a tool and a wanker.
The above example is someone with a vision who carried it through to demonstrate and proudly display their talents .
I m with you Ras........I like a well kept original ...but I also can appreciate something that has been done well and finished.

there really is no logic to modifying, other than personal preference and the fact that some of us have too much time on our hands.
I went down the path of my modified XS wasn't a match for modern bikes, so I went and bought one, it ran rings round the XS but never had the same amount of character and I never had the same amount of pride as riding my old non competitive modified XS.

I actually love the look and the improvements. I just wonder at what point does it cease to be in ones best interests to not just go buy a superbike? The money spent on these mods would go a long way to a new bike. I am a bit of a purist although not completely, who loves the old XS's as they were. I guess mostly what I am trying to say is why spend all of that time and money on 1978 or so technology when it will never be competative with the new bikes.
