Thanks Pete I thought I had the side covers fixed with fiberglass but I will try the superglue bicarb and see how that goes.

nice work on the m/c,
I noticed u have a cracked side cover,
look up bi carb/superglue to repair the cracks,
ive used it before with really good results,
can be sanded/painted and drys straight away.   jat

After market rear MC

Eddy almost convinced me to search out a second hand original MC but with the aftermarket one in hand I decided to go forward with my plan.

It was a pretty easy transition in the end. With the blue spot brakes and 14mm MC at front and the new rear MC the brakes feel fantastic and would love a go-whoa comp to compare.
I still need to replace a couple of nut "spacers" with a pipe spacer that can be welded to the original mounting point. But it all works very well as is for now. I can still go back to original very easily removing the added bracket but Once I settle in on this I reckon I will remove the no longer needed mounting point.
It defiantly suits the minimalist theme hidden behind the frame
Pretty crappy pics with the sons ipod but everything else was flat  ::)
