No problem with the bottle being lower, I also run my TRX 850 this way too. Its basically a closed circuit hydraulic system, the only way it would be a problem is if you ran the level very high in the bottle and say you were putting new pads in and forced the brake pistons back you might overflow the bottle.

hey mate.....
I am not absolutely certain but believe that the reservoir should be above the lever to some extent....
Nice workshop BTW

Several weekends later........finally finished the conversion
a couple of little problems with clearances on the way to being sorted, one being with the extra spacing behind the disc ended up the disc mounting bolt heads jamming on the speedo drive cable, on the knurled nut, so had to remove the washers under the nut to get a whiskerof clearance

Anyway since i didnt use the original master cylinder I was able to tuck the after market brake fluid bottle neatly out of the way.

the riders view with no bulky master cylinder

bottle tucked away nice and low out of the way

Oh yeah, I used the original hoses as the R6 hoses are too short
looks like a set of braided lines next.

I had already fitted HEL Brake lines so I reused them.  They give better feel

To those out there who have done the blue spot caliper conversion......did you use the original XS11 hoses? or the R1 hoses that come with the brakes? I'm only up to fitting the first caliper and already struck a snag.......gunna have to get the file out and open up the throat of the caliper(s) as they are binding on the disc. A compromise between caliper rubbing the wheel etc

Same here.  The E is staying stock, the H project will get all the mod cons while still retaining its XSiveness.

This one is on a slow burn fuze also.

Hey Eddy #594 the one I took to the inaugural XS rally.
Its already tainted with a few non original items so I've decided this is going to be my canvas for further mods
watch this space....but don't hold your breath, slow burning project ahead.
Brett
are you going with original master cylinder? or compatible unit with the brakes?
If the latter,,,,master cylinder resovoirs are cheap and plentiful I actually bought a universal resovoir new from a wrecker $40 delivered
