just man up and deal with a heavy clutch....
Anyone here ridden a Laverda Jota - THAT'S a heavy clutch.....nice ride tho....

Funny thing is Geoff states in his vid the springs must be over 42 mm or you will get uneven pull on the clutch plate. Mine where all 40mm. Didn't measure them when I put them in but can't be compressed when only few thousand kms  and few years on them ?

Think I will need to trade in the short race clutch handle :)

the heavy duty springs might work against you having a light clutch?

Just put two steel plates together Bryan, as stated somewhere in the middle.
Mine is out now. So back to standard with heavy duty springs.
fingers crossed it all works and clutch a bit lighter?

 it's just packing so anywhere,  mine's got one smack bang in middle, back then the CB hondas had way better
 clutches than the crappy cost-cutting yamaha effort,
i rode them CB's had smoooth light lever and solid strong with it,
 xs11 clutch is exact opposite

new springs and friction plates will fix it, since you already got springs just the friction plates, which you can still get new from yamaha.

I've not had any probs with slipping since I went to heavier springs - when the engine was fresh I had to baby the clutch
until it was up to operating temp but heavier springs and new stock friction plates fixed that.
good to know about the extra plate tho...
Anyone here tried the kevlar friction plates?

xs11 clutch is piss-weak if you thrash it, 70's bike magazines destroyed them first drag runs brand new... 
even worse if engine's been souped-up or even running 4-1 pipes that deliver
 power suddenly at higher revs,
 then there's the bad design friction plate rubbing on the soft alloy pressure plate, means eventually used pressure plate wears thinner, means whole new clutch pack will still be out of spec, extra steel plate fixes all that drama

it still releasing might have a lot to do with the clutch adjustment. After the mod my adjuster did not end up in the normal spot. Old Steptoe had a double take when he tried to adjust it better lol

i did this before I Went to first rally, is that 4 years ago, and been working great since then but the clutch gets a bit heavy on the hand around town. Not sure how much of that is to do with my short clutch handle as well though.
