Hello all,
Love the forum, so much fantastic information and love reading the posts.
I have always liked the big XS 1100's, I've had several bikes over the years and have always wanted one. Bought a 1980G from Melbourne last year  and started to tidy that up, currently  in the middle of the strip down and painting tank etc and am looking forward to getting it on the road. I was lucky that a great 1978E came on the market in SA so I grabbed it. Bit hard explaining to the wife why I needed two  bikes.  The plan is to get the1980 G on the road and do a full resto on the 78
I have been reading about the rally in Bourke and maybe I can be a starter, all going well I will bring the 80.  Had an xj750 some years ago and am the proud owner of an FJ1200 that I have had for about 8 years. Just made contact with other SA xs'ers and I look forward to catching up and learning more about doing them up.
I m just getting used posting so I hope to get some photos up soon.
Big thanks to Christian for sorting out my problems getting started posting.
Regards

Slightly further away, but welcome just the same, Steve.
Have a read of the "posting photos" thread and try to get some pics up of your bike in the "before" stage. It's really nice to read stories of XSive rebirths and being able to follow the process from start to finish.

Hi Steve

welcome aboard, good to see another member here in Adelaide, hopefully we can all get together sometime for a drink & a chat.

I have an original 1978 E model, owned since new, currently going through a rebuild and soon to be back on the road.

HI everyone, I have to thank Christian for getting me, I was having trouble getting the ‘my fav bike’ question correct when registering, left to many gaps in the answer.

I have a RH, had it from new in 81 unfortunately I have left it ‘sitting’ for about 15 years…I know I should be whipped.
Now I’m going to do something about it and hope I can restore it back to the great bike it was. How long it will take I don’t know.
I will need plenty of advice and parts, hopefully I can get some of both here.
