Bump.

I've been using a Garman Zumo for a number of years, on the Tigger and each of my KTMs.

RAM mounts are the trick.

Plus, cut the Garmin power lead to the cradle and fit a connector.  That will allow you to wire in power on each bike you may wish to use the GPS on.  I've got mine wired in with a 3 amp fuse.

Working in reverse - you can have the same connector for a trickle charger.

BUT - don't try and use that connector for a Slime air pump.  Fuses just blow and then it's a Doh moment.

Another thing with RAM mounts - you can use them for video cameras.

Fast rides?  the straights between Mildura and Renmark in an hour.  Two up on my honeymoon!
Glen Innes to Sth Grafton in 1 hr & 5 mins - that was on a GPz900R.  And the bike made it easy.
No way I couldv'e done that on an XS.  I'll leave that attempt to someone else with much bigger cahoonas!

But one of the most enjoyable, and most memorable, rides was the Old Pacific Hwy, me on the XS, my brother on a GS1000E.  We just did everything to maintain 80km/h.  That was a great ride!
cheers

I have a tom tom mounted on my honda cb250rs which was first made to fit my last xs11 and soon to be on my new xs. I just bought a second mount ( with suction cup ) cut off the suction cup , fab'd up a bracet to fit off the speedo mounts and bolted it to this if that helps.

Best I've done on my bike was 'That' trip to Mount Isa which I'd originally planned to run straight through, but was thwarthed by fuel availability in the Mitchell/ Morven area both ways. Still turned out to be two 1000klm days back to back, and back again the next weekend.
Most recently (in a car) did Childers to Newcastle to Brisbane overnight to pick up some stained glass stuff for Neriel. I did pick up a co-pilot at Brissie who did the run to Grafton then I took over for the rest.
We had a borrowed GPS with us that kept telling us to turn around and was continuously recalculating the trip. Only found out after returning to Brisbane that it was set to avoid major highways! It belonged to a motorcyclist, of course.

Fastest one I ever did on my "Garden gate" was on a trip from Mt Isa to 3 ways in the NT, It was getting on towards Roo time and we just wanted to get off the road. the last 180kms were done in one hour!!...honest,  those roads are made for laying on the tank and going. I was in the company of very hotted up 750 Bol'dor a standard 900 Bol'dor & the first model K100 BMW(he was 2 up)
Was only 21 at the time but I still hurt in the neck from trying to keep the back of  my head from resting on my shoulder blades :P

This could turn into a bragfest 8)
