G,day lumox
I'm pretty sure your speedo isnt off an E model and probly not an F or a G either.
Just checked mine to be sure and there is only a 4 pin plug, 2 of the wires, black and blue do the instrument lights and the other 2 stripy ones go to a little black gizmo thing. dont know what that does, maybe a dimmer control for the instrument lights.
Does yours have any idiot lights on the face of the speedo? might be off one of them round XS's? or something else completely.

EDIT
my mistake
I had a look at the book and it seems you have a G speedo and an E harness. the 3 pin plug is for dimmer control and the 2 stripey wires in the 4 pin plug are for canselling the blinkers. So you can use it but not have dimmer control

More assistance required please.

78E speedo has two sets of wires, one 4 pin and 1 three pin connector. Problem i have is the wiring loom only has a 4 pin connector, missing the 3 pin?  Yes the wiring loom and speedo are off the same bike. Will the speedo still work? Or i do have an 80 model wiring loom that does have the 3 pin connector, will have to spend some time as it is not in the best condition. Just trying to avoid the hassle.

Once again any advice will be greatly appreciated.
