This seems to be going in circles.

Wasn't the original idea to make it central?

If the majority don't want to go to Bourke just say so.

Having a poll for Bourke that closes after a month and a poll for Dubbo that runs indefinitely is a joke? Sureley?

Quote from melbxs in the XS100 Rally !!! thread

Quote
Dubbo creates a better option for SA, with similar distances for all others.

Adelaide: 1200km  (via Mildura and Hay)
Melbourne:934km  (via Hay to meet SA)
Sydney: 400km
Bundaberg:1100km
Townville:1780km

Compared to:

Place of origin              Bourke   Bendemeer
Townsvile                        1490       1730
Adelaide                          1130       1580
Melbourne                       1230       1000
Bundaberg                      1170         860
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It looks like Dubbo does have some merit iwith regard to the distance to travel.....and  minimal distance impact on Adelaide. 70Km's on those roads out there is about 35min

It does have some positives.....but I didnt see a fire pit for a camp fire, And it just aint camping if you cant have a fire.

Although I'm sure there are back to basics camping areas in the surrounding Bush around Dubbo where we could get a campfire happening.

Just my opinion but  wherever the rally is to be held. It needs to have "something" central, as a gathering place to have a drink and swap yarns. Other Van park users might get up set if we just take over the common area.

I suppose for now a destination has to be sorted.... and then get down to finer points like accomodation. When I hear bike rally it immediately suggests to me, tent camping and a fire.

That my 2 bobs worth anyway

This destination has been mentioned before by Melbxs(Brian). There are many reasons as to why this may have more to offer as a Rally point.
1)Geographically based similar to Bourke for all to attend.
2)A greater range / options for accomodation to choose from.
3)Better serviced for any maintanence/repair problems that may occur and need to be taken care of over a weekend before the return trip home if needed.
4)If people wish to travel light.....better serviced for supplies on arrival.
5)A bigger population to show off our steeds to as we cruise though and around town.
6)More people to get a buzz out of our collective. You gotta admit...we all love peeps to go ....oooOOOHHH......aaaAAAHHH.......at our pride and joy.
7)Smaller and out of the way places tend to shut up shop on the weekends . You could swing a cat in the main street and no one would report you to the RSPCA.  And....No.thats not an offer......it s a statement.
8)Cheaper fuel......for all those discount docket savers out there.(Is no way related to the previous point .)
9)A greater range of  attractions to travel to as a group or smaller numbers if anyone feels the urge for leisure or photo opportunities.(Dubbo Zoo comes to mind)
10)There would be more of a chance for live pub entertainment on a friday or saturday night.....aside from our bikes and owners of course of which i m sure will provide plenty of unpaid live entertainment anyways.
Both brian and myself feel it s good to have an alternative choice at this point as the rally is progressing. After 2 or in some cases 3 or more days of riding....... we re guessing most people will want to kick back and relax and take photos/vids , share stories , info and good times before heading back home , with choices and options for accomodation and meals not being of a sub standard or hassle and being able to cater to most peoples needs and wants.A larger populated city should give us a better chance of providing that.
Consider the points made and vote Yay....or Nay by a replying on  here.. to expediate the issue of destination...also in line with the poll for Bourke just add your preferred type of accomodation for a general view.We don t see a need for a cut off date....but i think by the end of january and into febuary or thereabouts most people would have got through this busy time of the year and family commitments/holidays......so would hope the sway of numbers would be stronger one way or the other.
Obviously cabin and camping pricing can be a shared arrangement to to fit the budget.....or if you prefer privacy...(ie.no snoring or farting or the need for spooning in the middle of the night, you can opt for your own personal space)
IT S ALL ABOUT CHOICES GUYS (and girl !).........
