for those with a broken turner like mine and the backing light could be brighter, there are different watt bulbs available at your local auto store,

just take a bulb out, and with you so all's good,, that's what I do to avoid mix ups

Mine worked the one time I tried it. Haven't really felt the need in a long time.  :D

I know my '80 g had the dimmer and it worked, don't know .........nah just went and checked the '81 h , trip meter knob won't move so it either doesn't have it or is not working.
maybe I'll take a look some time when the speedo is off.

was on the uk forum a short time ago
and learnt that our RH's dont have a reserve lighting unit,
but an illumination control in the same spot the rlu would
be on other model bikes, this unit basically dims the tacho/speedo
instument lights, this is done by popping out the trip meter a little
the trip meter wont move but the lights should either dim or brighten
depending on which way the knob is moved.
heres a link to the uk thread
http://www.benefiscal.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2913.0
i tried this on my bike, the trip meter knob popped out, but the lights
didnt dim, was curious if others have tried this and it there unit was working,
i have a cpl of spares units that ill try next time i have the tank off, more out of curiosity
than necessity.
