Insurance woes

Hi Phil,
It pays to shop around.  I've been with QBE for all of my bikes and unfortunately had to make my first ever insurance claim when I came off a couple of years ago.  They were brilliant to deal with - took care of everything while I was at home nursing a nicely cracked collarbone and a badly bruised ego!
QBE have insured the XS for $7,500 agreed value for around the $400 mark, with a $350 excess.

  Wow it's amazing how different the quotes can be, I first tried Shannon's (have my 4wd with them and a couple of previous bikes) and the maximum value that they would offer was $3800, for a premium of $336pa and $500 excess. Then I discovered that NRMA have a "vintage veteran" policy and that came in at $465 for $9000 cover with an excess of $500, and further searching in "Google" revealed "Lumly" and they will cover me for $9000 value with a premium of $204.15 with an excess of $400. They told me that I have full salvage rights if the bike is stolen and recovered and too costly to repair, this also applies if I have an accident and the bike is a write off, and all repairs that they have agreed to are covered by a "life time" warrentee. Damned good I recon,
