So, apart from the fact that someone has a Kwaka problem (it's OK, I have a GSX problem...) what I glean from this thead is that we have at least 3 XS11 outfits among us? Giddy up!

Absolutely. I currently fork out over $1500 a year for 3 bikes (the beautiful XS, a ZX10 and a KTM450). Lucky for me, I have a company car which I have full use of so don't pay for that as well. I didn't spend anywhere near 90 days riding all of them conbined so wiill definitely be chasing this up.

Looking at this, in Vic you'll need to be a member of a recognized club (like the VJMC) and the rego costs for a 90 day permit is around $120 for the 12 months.

I have a '75 CB400/4 on historic rego and will soon be doing the same with my '81 GSX1100. This kind of rego doesn't really suit my XS11 outfit, even though it is elegible,  because I commute on it daily and even drop the kids to school on the way most days. It is my family's equivalent of a second car.

The applicable state's historic / club / conditional rego scheme would be well worth checking out for most XS owners though, as they are well suited to the type & frequency of riding most of these bikes get.

A while ago I mentioned that Clup Permits in Vic may change, giving us the chance to register these old classics as a "Historic". IE: Cheaper rego -

Well I was at Vic Roads yesterday and saw this:
http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Registration/PermitsModificationsAndDefects/OtherPermits/ClubPermits.htm

Seeing I pay full rego for 3 motorcycles, which I can only ride 1 at a time, I thought finally there's a way to reduce rego bills. So I looed up the website and I saw this:

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Registration/FeesFormsAndFAQs/Fees/PermitFees.htm

Had to check on this:

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Registration/FeesFormsAndFAQs/Forms/default.htm

Then saw this:

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Registration/PermitsModificationsAndDefects/OtherPermits/ApprovedClubsAndAssociations.htm

If anyone out there rides the bike less than 90 days a year can be eligible for this. I certainly do not ride my RH more than 90 days per year so will be chasing this up before the rego runs out in POctober..... I will do more investigations and let you know what I find.

Cheers
