Thanks fellas.

Actually took the old thing out the other day and put another 100km on it.  Very pleasant, if cold.

If anyone is interested in a rally entry form, for Wagga in October, let me know.
cheers

g,day ray,, another sidecar nut, ;D {enthusiast},, I think you make 3,,
did you build your own link ?, with the double swinging off the side, how much trail was yours set at

can't really see in the pic,, did you have a turned down back wheel with a car tyre or just running a solo tyre

a very tidy unit, both as a solo and outfit

as a few have said already,, wlecome aboard, hope you enjoy your time,,cause now you've found us, there'll be sometime spent ;D

Also, Wagga would be a great halfway point for a NSW VIC meetup.

There is a classic bike rally here on 8th & 9th October.

This is how the thing looked when it last had a sidecar.  I was christened 'Wide Thing'.

And a very bad photo (of course, not taken by me! :P) of how it looks at the moment.

Then there is my latest project.

Leigh (riding it) only finished his part in january.  I got it registered in March,  and 2 days later I gave myself an 8 week rest by falling off this

breaking my collar bone.  Just had a second round of surgery last week, but job's pretty right now!

I've still got my first bike

I love the little girl.  She's my baby.

And I've made a start on another project.  I'm not holding my breath.

And my wife's bike was a classic from the day it was built, but don't have a decent snap of it -- nice burgundy '94 SRV250.

That'll do for the minute.

cheers

Hi Ray, welcome aboard.

It's a testament to these bikes that quite a number of members here have had them since they were new or nearly new. There are quite a few others who had one back in the day and picked up another one recently. Then there's the Johnny come latelys (like me) who only just discovered them within the last few years.

Try to get some pics of your bike up. We love pics.  ;)

Also, Wagga would be a great halfway point for a NSW VIC meetup.

Hi Ray and welcome to the fold, mate. Must be nice to know the history of your bike as well as you. There's more owners of these old girls coming out of the woodwork every day now, it seeems, which is great for helping keep them on the road. I've never had a chair on mine but I've been told these are one of the better bikes of the era to hook one up to.
You'll have to put up some pics of yours Asap please.

G'day all.
I'm Rayb, from Wagga (at least presently).
Been here for about 120 years, oops that's a typo.  It may feel like 120, but it's only 10.

I've had my XS1100G since 1981.  I bought it from The Bike Spot, on Parramatta Rd Lewisham when it had 4000km on the odo. doG only knows what's on it now, as it's had a couple of odos and I didn't bother keeping track.

The old thing has had a quiet life in the past 10 or so years, mainly because I've had other bikes and work always got in the way.  These days it sits in the garage  with my '73 RD250, Triumph Tiger 900 & sidecar and KTM690e plus, my wife's SRV250.  Battery chargers all around!  All just waiting to be got out and about.  It's spent some time dragging sidecars about (I was in the Sydney Sidecar Owner's Club), but now it's waiting it's turn for a respray back to original colours, plus a general tidy up.

On other forums I'm known as 'sidecar ray' or 'scray' and I do frequent AdvRider and OffRoadExplorer.
The different name is a reflection of an intention for my personal business - if I can find the money.

I was in the VJMC, but sadly couldn't encourage anyone else down here to get invovled, so I remain only in the 'eastenders' group of the Griffith Classic MCC.

I'll update my profile etc shortly and then I'll be posting a carbs question in the relevant place.
