A bit off topic, but.
The car was "supposed" to have the 50K service done awhile back, don't use it much only when it rains.
I thought I had better do a few things to it seeing that it was well overdue for the next service. I had only done 5K in about 8 months and still about 5K to go, km wise.
Well I was absolutely shocked at the state of the oil and everything else that was “supposed” to be done at the 50K service, if ever at all.

Air filter crap, never changed, the brake fluids had massive bubbles at every caliper, etc, stuff the bast**ds.

I went to Sydney, on the advice of a FJR Forum member, to get the valve check done on the bike. A well known mechanic had left his old employer because the “boss” instructed him to perform shonky services. This guy has now set up his own mobile bike mechanical business.

So true,   seems most garages/mechanics have now wormed their way into the lawyer/parasite/politician class these days,  rip-off galore everywhere you go

Good idea, I should, I will.

I have all the receipts for the FJR in a shoe box.

I’ve scanned receipts now for the Subaru, since I’m now servicing the car.

Boy I hate mechanics, well most likely their bosses, workshop practices.
Always paid to get the car done from new. Lots of stamps, looks good in the book. It doesn’t mean Jack Shyte when they don’t do the work.

That’s off my chest lol lol

That's great news, Ken.
Good weather to cosy up and have a good read, too.

New Baby Today

Greetings

I’m now the proud father of a new, well second hand 1978 XS1100.  ;D
Had to introduce it to the FJR, hope they get along in the garage, no fighting.

Had a very wet trip back to Toowoomba, but boy the motor’s sweet.
Had a grin ear to ear.

I forgot how the motor is on the beast, knock it down a gear and a bit of stick, it purrs.
Even though the suspension is a bit soft for me, it was quite comfortable.
I wasn’t going to see what it could do in the wet.

Totally different braking and tires compared to the FJR and in the wet.

Was given a big envelope with all it’s service and history, cant wait to read up on it all.
Included were 2 sets of spare wheels, one set with tires and all the original tools with a service manual.

Going to give it some TLC this week.

Cheers
