hey fung! years ago now ( in my callow youth) lol i used to work for a bike dealer that only sold yamaha and suzuki bikes . when the old feller retired and closed the shop down he gave me 2 mirrors that used to hang above his desk, they was wooden framed , one has a yam xs 650 onit and the other is a suzuki 250 ramair , he told me that they were given to dealers that sold a set amount of that particuler model!! just been clearing some stuff out and found em both wrapped up in bubble wrap in a box in the loft!! do you think they would make anything on fleabay ,  oh! well back to the loft .   respect spanner uk  8)  .

Bloody hell it's interesting..........Mate of mine in Hobart has done this. He actually took the crank to a machine shop and had it modified......Done the whole lot the hard way (NO mikes xs)......but never got the bike fully sorted .....give up and brought a SV1000......anyhoo I heard it start up and run (roughly) and what a sound.....mmmmmmm......Been tempted to go down that path but I am just going to stay with the 750 kit only and just get the bloody thing on the road first.......then let the dreaming start again......... 8)

have a mate in the US - He was over for Concours - anyhoo....he is on the hunt for an XS850 triple to use when he is in the country (wants to store it at my place  :) :D ;D -
but thats another story -
this is about some things he was telling me about what his locals are doing to XS650 twins - tricking them out like Yamaha did with the TRX850.... get this
http://www.sense.net/~blaine/270.html
this
http://xs650temp.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=EngineModified&action=display&thread=12811
and this
"There are quite a few references to people in Oz heavily involved in this technology, and I think that the crank place up the road from me actually told me that they get some of their parts from Oz. The place that's local to me that actually sells modified 650 JamJar engine bits is MikesXS.net, in Brooksville, about an hour's drive away. They sell 270 and 277 degree cranks, camshafts and ignitions.
Also selling rephased crank bits is 650motorcycles.com, look at http://www.650motorcycles.com/XS277kit.html for some actual photos."
interesting eh Fung?
