I surely will - hope he does lurk on this site so he can learn not to touch a classic UJM if you dont know how to properly use a torque wrench. Or common sense. Ah well.

I will keep with the updates, im tempting fate here but i have the bike nearly into every piece it could be in, (knock on wood) but i dont think there can be too many more surprises from previous owner.

More importantly though i will keep up an XS1100 that would have likely rotted in someone elses shed if they had bought it and had these issues. Instead she will be lovingly... well, not restored, she could end up cafe racer ish or something. But lovingly fixed and maintained and ridden.
Managed to teach my wife to ride a little 50cc scooter, wobbling across the car park on it. I mentioned we should buy one so she can ride on her own. Her reply: "No, its OK, i will just take your bike!"
lol so maybe in a few years if she can master 50cc, then 250cc, Maybe i will have to get her the baby brother, a 650 or something. Is it me or are these bikes addictive? Im a Honda fan damnit! Or used to be haha

wouldn't it be "Poetic justice" if this guy (the guy who customised the bike) was a lurker on this site, then he could see what others think of his handy work. Can't see much future in his "Customs" business, was probably walking past "Supa Cheap" when they had a special on paint. It's great to see that his handy work will be but a memory, and you will add your own touch to this once awesome piece of brilliant machinery. We all have confidence in you Scott so keep up the progress and keep the pics coming.
Cheers: Phil

bahahahahaha i needed a good laugh after everything else going wrong with this bike. Well it turns out i managed to strip all the paint. I didnt buy a BIG tin of paint stripper. I used a slightly less orthodox method.
There is this little known chemical liquid, its getting to be quite expensive. Have to be careful when handling it, take all the right precautions.

I was very careful, although i spilt a little on some paintwork before i meant to remove the paint.
Anyone guesss what liquid i used to clean all the horrible paint off with? Was very simple, wipe on, wipe off. so easy. ;)
Starts with a P. Or a U, or sometimes a B depending on where you are from.
Petrol. Regular Unleaded. Good ol Benzine.
 :o
Turns out that 'Inzane Customs' decided to use some cheap ass paint that strips off, and i am talking about slides off in sheets to bare metal. At the slightest hint of petrol. Like, petrol on rag, wipe rag generously over tank, wipe with clean rag, bare metal fuel tank.
 ???
Keyword, FUEL TANK. With paint that comes off with FUEL?!?!?!
Sure maybe it would have been fine after a few weeks in the sun or something, but SERIOUSLY? Youv got to be KIDDING?!?!

Well there goes that awsome paint job, sorry guys, was a real classic, what a shame  ::)
