Re: Battery Question

I've got motobatt in all but 1 bike, I always fully charge a new battery before installing. My bikes each would also only do a couple of thousand km's a year the oldest battery has been in since 2011. I also periodically give each battery a day every couple of months on a trickle charger. The one bike that doesnt have a motobatt is the one that last week didnt have enough oomph to start the bike, this initiated a round of charging for all the bikes.
Another long winded reply for motobatt oh and any charger should work

The battery is gonna last about 5 years anyways. I have used both cheap and expensive. The longest lasting is the one in my daily, which funnily enough is the one that gets the most use. On the less frequently used bikes a trickle charger is used and the batteries die sooner? I now just put in bog standard sealed batteries.
Long winded bu I hope it helps

Battery Question
Been off the road since 2009 and need a new battery.
Bearing in mind I'll only be doing a few thousand miles a year.
Is it a false economy to get a cheap and nasty battery
Or
Would a Motobatt be a better route to go?

Another question has just sprung to mind.
If I get a Motobatt battery will my Optimate 4 work as well on a sealed battery as it did on the acid battery before it died?
