Hi. The bike is a xs1100sh model and came with a metric speedo rather than the American model which had miles. The starter button went missing the othr day. Turns out the the horn button can be moved and used as the starter button. I'll see it i can get a friend to 3d print a new one for the horn.

Also, I'll plan to be at the rally in May, it's just a day trip from here.

Very very rare in OZ.
There are a number of members of this group up your way, I'm sure they will reach out for a meet and ride.

Thanks for the chance to join this exclusive group.  When I was a young fella, I always wanted an xs1100 special. They just looked so cool, had the biggest meanest motor and the one of the fastest things on two wheels. Well, sort of.

I was working in Canada a couple of years ago and saw this bike on kijiji and went to see it in Montreal . Nice guy, spoke French so I don't know much about its history but it looked good with matching numbers etc. And he delivered to Toronto which kinda sealed the deal. :)  I had it on the road in Toronto for just under a year, which means riding it for about 6 months.

From there, I shipped it home when I returned. Getting it on the road here was very straightforward. Since then I've replaced the brake pads, fork seals, main jet o rings and it now has a Barnett kevlar clutch. I use of most days to commute into the city, a 60km round trip and is running very well for 39 year old bike.  I reckon that it shows that the xs was the Yamaha flagship model of its day when working on it.
