All legal again, so it looks like three wheels to wellington this year
But I won't be going the long way this year, still getting used to it and will finally get to try it out with a good load.
I just hope you're not leaving too early Eddie.

Good news is I'm up and running, didn't touch main shaft as I found a few issues with counter shaft, so replaced counter shaft and selector forks new clutch and springs, fixed leaking fuel tank and added some new rear shocks.
So now I just need a pink slip and good to go
Have given a short test run and had no jumping/slipping in 2nd gear.

You can get both gear shafts out without splitting the cases. I have spare selector forks and a drum.

Steptoes ya man, hes probably the most recently inside the box to remember,  but for my dim memory you gotta split cases to get the main shaft out.

Rear wheel all good Eddie, disconnected drive shaft and towed it home, good thing I was only just up the road from home.
Got the gears free, had jumped right out of 2nd and was jammed against the gear.
Got the counter shaft and selector forks out, 2nd selector badly worn, but then found I'm not the first one to get in there, 1st selector also badly worn but po has had it welded up and machined (really good job by the way ) but its now time to get into the spare gearbox and see if it's any good.
Need to know if the main shaft can come out without splitting cases

I know it's been awhile, been enjoying the ride.
Been doing bits and pieces , welded the cracks, new spacer for rear wheel bearing, replaced seat ( repaired an old base, scored an original seat foam and bought a replacement cover), made it to the sidecar rally back in September  ( where does the time go )
Then locked up the gearbox, so I'm in the process of finding and fixing the problem now so not sure if it will be ready for the rally,
I may have to ride the ever faithful H.

Well I  managed to get new tyres last weekend and thats where the fun started. Front wheel new bearings and back on no problem, then to look at the rear wheel and drive line, thought the wheel spline was not real good so pulled the parts from spares bike, then found the wheel spline had been spaced out from the wheel 4-5 mm with washers, spent the whole day Monday fitting and removing wheel and said spacers and finally decided no  spacers but now the tyre just contacts the swing arm on drive where it comes back to full size  at the final drive mount. Thought about it a while but nothing a good hammer couldn't fix.
This weekend was final wheel assembly and test and all seems to be good, changed front brake fluid and bled which has improved.
This morning tackled some frame cracks at steering head.
Good news is the second gear skip or chatter seems to be gone after changing final drive and wheel spline.

Onya clutch,
The head shake is the sidecar tyre and the lead of the front tyre telling you it needs aligning to suit you,
The thing with outfits is  a chair set up for me will feel different for you

Have fun

Yes Eddie, that sounds like it, haven't pushed past one or two clunks cause you know whatever it is ain't good, and thought I'd pushed it abit in first and third as well but no "chatter" as yet, looks like I gotta check the spare parts,
Thanks Jonesy, just let me check the drive line first, as I should have those parts if needed
Back on tyres Eddie has a 3.50 19" avon side car tyre in the front and  a 135 15" car radial on the rear so I'm going to go with these for now as it feels really good at highway speed and thats how it was set up just has a slight head shake or wobble at low speed
