self cancelling indicators

Yeah I?ll back that up, check every earth and conector for dryness, clean and lube up with something, even kerro will do, then go from there, the unit itself rarely gives trouble, so I?ve been told by people in the know.
Mine still plays up a bit on the left side, when I reg it again I?ll look at it, but it used to work fine years ago, I?m just slack and time poor ?

The earth wires on the blinkers quite often cause this issue, make sure they?re clean contacts

Today AndyH came around to give his recently purchased 81H the once over. Nice bike, well looked after, had a rebuild, sounds great, no major issues. Fixed the fuel sender wire. (PO had plugged the wires for the auxiliary fuse box into the fuel tank and the fuel tank sender wire into the fuse box.  Then there was the ........

Self cancelling indicators.

Fitted to his bike was an after market 3 prong flasher can.

We put an OEM  (proven) flasher can from one of my bikes on.  It didn't self cancel.

We put the (proven) self cancelling relay from my bike on.  It didn't self cancel.

We put the proven can and relay combination on. No self cancelling

What am I missing???
