I noticed on the forum members discussion the XJR headers. It appears they bolt straight on. can anyone on the forum tell me if that's correct?

I think "Bretts" a member on here put a full XJR system on his XS11, he might wander past this post and give more detail

Mark, I have an 1170 Wisco kit, ( just 4 pistons with rings ) the reason I went for 1170 was that you can use a std head gasket , Im probably never gunna use it, so do your research and if your interested I’ll sell you mine, can’t remember what I paid for it, that was over 10 years ago and my memory span these days is not much better that a gold fish! If your interested PM me.

Hey Mark, the Wiseco kit will set you back around $800, last quote I got for a rebore was around $300, the head was at $700 and the gaskets off ebay were $100.
I went the 1196 kit bur either way you will get plenty of power, mire than you can practically use.

Hi all
After advice. I am happy with my bike.nothing urgent.. Buuut. I notice some white smoke from crankcase breather. It's not fuel in oil. So I assume it's rings. Looking at rebuild. Obviously then wiseco 1179 kit looks like the go. Opinions? Plus costs?

So what size jets did you end up with Mark? I tried a set of BS 36’s (ZX10) a fair while back, very big flat spot between 95-110 k’s, didn’t get a chance to play with jets cos I wrote off a commodore with it! When it was rebuilt the STD carbs went back on, runs really good now but I still wonder how it would perform with the 36’s set up right.

i ended up with 38 pilots,140 mains..plugs look good..could maybe go up 1 main jet size..feels great cruising at low revs..and pulls hard all the way to redline..no flat spots..had to fit alternate choke cable..even used the xs11 airbox with the plastic velocity stacks..i never got my original carbs working properly..got sick of pulling them apart..was very close to buying mikuni flatslides(put them on an old triumph i have and it made a big difference) but couldnt justify the price.
i would recommend the zrx carbs.

Hey all
Another update. Zrx carbs dialled in and very happy with them. Have had some good rides testing etc.
Sorted slipping clutch, rear brakes finished. Acewell tacho fitted. All back together. Even got a blue slip today. So close to being registered. Still trying to get my head around club rego, or just normal rego.

braided lines installed..massive difference :)
Also go a set of zrx1200 carbs installed..very happy.Has anyone else installed these? if so what jets did you use? so far i have gone 38 pilots,140 mains.still seems a little lean down low. havent had a chance to ride it yet, just playing around in garage. but throttle response is crisp..massive difference from the standard carbs.(well mine anyway, which i have struggled with)i had the old carbs on and off bike half a dozen times.one float sticking

i noticed on my quick ride the other day the front brakes feel a little spongy..i have rebuilt the calipers..is this normal?
I will try some braided lines and see if that helps

we're not all purists, some how the seat and Rsend seem to have a HD V rod look about it. I like it

yes seat is from a harley dyna...i originally was going to cafe racer it..but changed my mind after realizing that riding position isnt as comfortable as it used to be lol
