Thanks Steptoe, job done. Just wanted to be sure that the shaft wasn't going to drop when the bearing came out.

You know there is always something to fix on a 2nd hand xs Jeff.

you can take the carrier out of the side of the motor and replace o-rings independent of everything else,, available at any industrial supplier

Has anyone removed and refitted the l/h bearing carrier when not doing a rebuild?
Need to replace o rings.
