All the best mate but let me be the one who is a bit blunt.....it will never be the same, better than a bung hip but as they have probably told you as they told me, you have to be careful as the flexibility is not like it was.
Hip dislocation was what I was warned of so that is why I don't want to come off.

Riding is better than in the car because you can move the leg around a lot more on a bike sort of physio you might say.
I find driving makes the pain worse than riding.

Hey Fred, dig deep mate as each day that passes is one step closer to you getting back on your pride and joy.

you need to move the bike into the physio's room so while your swearing and cursing at them you can keep looking at it,,,,,"not long now,, one session closer"

not getting soppy , but that's what I did when I broke my leg badly,,it wasn't the bike, but the boss had bought a brand new truck for me the day I broke it,and hadn't told me it was  coming,

                                     12 weeks I was driving my new rig  8) 8) { almost 40 when I broke it }

F#CK that hurt!! >:(

Back on deck but no rides for at least three months doc says. :'(

Don't know how it will all turn out yet but here's hoping.
They sent me home with a huge box of morphine to keep me happy for a while but it's doing stuff all cause I've been on it for 3 1/2 years anyway. :D :D

Anyway, at this stage of the recovery process I can't honestly recommend the op. As I said:

Mate I know how you feel, it has been suggested in my direction too.
I think I will just keep the bone to metal as long as I can, a hip replacement will not fix my probs anyway  >:( >:( >:(

I like the "for a while" bit maate.

Fred.  Thinking of you.  and hope for a speedy and complete recovery.

Time will fly and you'll be back with us and back doing what I think you love a lot, riding.

In the meantime, you'll be missed.

Take care.  xBarbara

Guys, I'm gunne do it :(

After putting it off for 12 years I'm off to the big smoke (Melbourne), on Monday for a hip replacement.
Easy on the Old Man jokes.

Last ride tomorrow for at least three months :'(
Give the old girl a wash, take out the battery, drop and change oils, top up the tank to the brim and pull up the covers.

I'll be off the air from Sunday night for about 8 or 9 days.

Shiny side up guys.
