Had the pleasure of the hospitality of Steptoe and Eveready over the weekend.
Friday Night in Bundy with the above mentioned culprits with a few beers, brags and B.S. till after midnight
Saturday morning coffee on the verandah followed by a cooked breakfast before the serious business of carby stripping, cleaning, adjusting and testing for a Bundy XS hospital outpatient from sunny Lithgow (not present but sort of like lung transplant patient awaiting donor lungs to be delivered by courier for transplant) anyway I digress.
All seemed to be spot on with the initial no load idling revving and synchro adjustment.
After about 8 swapouts of 3 different sets of carbies the under load, fail to rev out issue wasnt fixed but we did manage to achieve a bundy world record carby swap.
From seat and tank on.
4 mins to remove carbys
9 min to replacement carbys insitu and test fire.
19 min to riding away for next road test
(Mrs steptoe you were right about forgetting to eat)
Saturday night was in Childers with Errol, same gain B,B & B
Sunday Morning coffee and brekky before a stroll around Errol's ponderosa, checking out the transformation achieved from overgrown abandoned jungle to almost park like in places and The wonderful home made and invented tractor mounted devices to achieve it.
Then off to Mrs Evereadys on farm studio and art gallery, a very talented woman.
Then down to the equally serious business of helping solve Errol's electrical woes.
It took the XS11 battery a ride on lawn mower battery a ute battery and an overworked 9V battery doing multiple roles in multi meter, temp gun and a test light (gift suggestion for Errol....a couple of 9V batteris :-))
Any way dash lights went from very dim to bright or would go out completely as soon as the completely dead starter was prodded even when jumped off the ute, red herring was dash lights going on or off randomly when different wires were jiggled, nothing was ever repeatable, then on the off chance Errol put the test light across all 3 batteries with a total fail on the XS battery even though it had 12.7 v in with the 12.4v mower battery and hey presto.

Thanks again Eveready and Steptoe for a great weekend.
