Guady?. ;D...what till ive finished...I do airbrushing and I see a large tank as a challenge. And im sick of losing it in the carpark amongst all the other XS1100's. Besides I like flames.

Personally mate, I prefer the look in the lower photo.
The original livery goes much better with the classic cafe styling than the gaudy bodywork

I work for a company that does powder coating. I plan to re-do lots of bits. First up, front and rear disc rotor centres.  Then maybe rear caliper. Which you reversed.. touch of genius there.  :). Mate , i'd like to meet you sometime, Im in Forestville. ph 0403833542. Give me  a call sometime. Actually re the rims, I dont know why I thought  the front was an XS650 item as theyre both Akront.

the rims front and back werent off a particular model, I got warners wheels? in Warwick QLD to supply and lace the rims purely on size required. I used to clean the motor with carby cleaner and protect the powder coated frame from run off as best i could with rags and stuff. Ducati exhaust ay? obviously someone who knows boats

Hi Jonesy, Haha takes a lot of bloody polishing mate....funny thing with the alloy rims the back needs bugger all polishing but the front needs constant Autosol and elbow grease. They're both Akront; I know the fronts an XS650---do you remember what the rear was off? You did  a damn fine job mating it to the hub. Spokes are heavy duty too---Ive never tightened them .I guess the dash is ''minimal'' compared to your standard XS1.1  No speedo light ( which isn't needed for rego---which is odd..) so unless im riding past a street light at night I dunno how fast im going  ;)  .Another reason to fit a small tacho. Also be taking the headers and mufflers off ( which someone thinks are a Staintune Ducati item???) and fitting new header bolts and maybe repaint the flanges flat VHT black. I had the headers Ceramic coated a few years back, still havent found a good way to keep them shiny. The motors looking rather dirty.. its hard to keep clean as you had it sand blasted. Degreaser does stuff all. There's a place in Newcastle that does some sort of water blasting that I may check out.

Hey Chrisso
Speedo and idiot lights still looking neat and minimal, just as I remember it. If i had my time again I'd lower the brake resovoir out of the way. It doesnt need to be above the master cylinder to work. looks like you've maintained a high degree of spit n polish

All good now; both lites have hi and Lo. Lots of dodgy old wires replaced with new connectors. The bloke who did it is very OC with leccy stuff. The new LED indicator and oil pressure lights are great. I always wondered what the headlights were...very similar to Speed Triple ones. Overhauled the front calipers a while back too. Old seals were cactus. . Now to re airbrush the tank....plain black dont do it for me ;D

Hey Chrisso
Its  all coming back now, the twin headlights were originally a couple of hella driving lights, to which one i grafted in a normal H4 hi / lo globe and the other was left as a driving light. so low beam had the one light with H4 bulb and hi had both lights on so the bosch relay was in that set up. The single blinker light on the dash board would only work with a diode or whatever the electrical equivalent of a non return valve is.

Its coming along. The mechanics pretty good at leccy stuff. Helps now I gave him the manual with wiring diagram and the log book showing where you Jonesy noted the different ? colored wires on headlite  loom. ( although only one lite was connected to hi beam.?? Some of the leccy connections were replacing as they're ancient now. Also fitted replacement Hi/ Lo switch and starter button and spring that Eddie gave me ( thanks mate.). Cant see the elelectrics lasting another 35 years but.... ;). Thanks folks. :) And with the wiring schematics we can find were the unconnected Bosch relay? goes to. Maybe it was for dash lights??, which arent there.. plan to mount a smallish ( less than 100mm dia tacho when I find one cheap enough. Guess i'll look at replacement fusebox soon too. The headlite terminals burnt out years ago so I replaced with an inline fuseholder.
