yep they're 36mm and a couple of mm's different in spacing but they plonk straight into the xs11 manifolds,

(to be fussier lightly skim a mm or so off the inner side of manifolds 1 and 4 with a dremel or suchlike- that's right inner on 1 and left inner on 4)

got to also slot the airbox mount holes to move the airbox forward a few more mm's

(forget about using ditzy pod filters on cv carbs) also got to fit a matching throttle cable connection, a choke cable connection and go up on jet(keihin) sizes..  for an XS11 around 38 on pilot jet and around 130 on main jet..

to run vac advance, plug to a manifold thru a restricted(0.5mm) hose,  means it'll tick over at idle sweetly at about 15-20 deg advanced versus stock EPA idle advance of around 5 deg..  btw the zrx carbs are snappier and smoother and more responsive than the BS34's you notice a difference straight away

so will the carbs of a zrx1100 fit? if so then it might be cheaper for me to look out for a second hand set thats ok.

i haven't looked at the FJ or XJR system. the GSXR throttle body is what most people are using. my main reason for wanting to go injected is that all 4 carby are flooding bad, so caby kits x4 and 3 of the floats were full of fuel, the carbs still leak badly even after i had fixed the floats and set the height, then all 4 carby diaphragms have holes. when you add up the cost to rebuild the carbys its a lot of $. on the up side the body's are in good condition. i would like to stick with carbs its just means the bike is going to take a little longer to get on the road.  :(

Jazz, here's a quote from a thread on the uk site from Shappers, owner of the bike in the third link down in Christians post plus the video:

Quote
Quote
I just don't have enough time to spend on it and to sort out the fuel injection system I fitted. I always need to relearn it all and reprogram it just for a simple ride around the block. I don't even own a laptop with the required COM port anymore!

Well I made a watershed decision this week to just take it all off and to fit a set of carbs. That way when I get a spare hour or two I can just fire it up and go for a ride instead of struggling with my notes and wondering which fuel map is going to get me running.

and a link to this thread - CLICK

He has abandoned the megasquirt system and reverted back to a set of ZRX1200 carbs due to the fact that his bike sits for extended periods (he lives in Finland, hence a very limited riding season), so if you're looking at using your bike sparingly, I'd say have a good long think about your options, plus maybe send Shappers an email for his opinion, as he's been there, done that.

the threads I've seen on xs1100 fuel injection have all been geeky long-winded waste-of-space, deadly-boring affairs about megasquirts/programming/diagnostics/worm charts/textbooks/over-priced parts/constant troubleshooting troubleshooting/always something wrong/playing up/re-programming/more diagnostics/ more twiddling/ more flowcharts & digits/running like crap blah blah/if running at all... mediocre results etc...they all fade to oblivion.....  throw some modern carbs on instead... 8)

just putting it out there, has any one played with putting fuel injection on there bikes. i have found some people on the net that have used the GSXR600 throttle body's and an after market fuel computer to control it.
any thought on doing this?
