Just fitted a 750 rectifier and it works - $20,  : :exact match.
Charging at 14.2v.
Only things left on the to do list, ( for now) is ; fit seat and clear the exit.

Old unit does not blow fuse but does not work either.
I ran the tests on it and no good.

When you plug your old one in does it short out as well??

i seem to remember that Jonesy had the same problem with an after market reg/rec.

Hi C
Its   http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/290973448682?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
a new one off ebay.
Must be a direct short as it pops the fuse as soon as ignition is turned on.
I renovated the loom so may have mixed something up and not picked it up if the old rectifier was not working. I will go back to staring at the wiring diagram and hope that part of my brain works.

Where did the regulator come from? Is it an original?

New rectifier blowing fuse
« Reply #1 on: October 05, 2014, 05:29:33 PM »
My new rectifier is blowing a 20amp fuse when I plug the green brown connector.
Bike was running less tacho but not charging.
Reconditioned loom, new fuse carriers, coils, leads, plugs etc, all electrics working.
Even got vic club rego so getting close.
Any ideas?
