I agree with Steptoe, consider Broadford as a rally in itself.
That means we would be having a rally within a rally which as Steptoe has said would detravt from us getting together as a group.

A showing at Broadford when it is on next would also be good for an XS1100 showing but as a seperate thing to OUR rally

Having had time to mull the idea over,,(the BBB),, as a rally destination, I think the meaning of the rally will be lost.
having said that a sizeable group of 11,s on show will be excellent

As the unofficial official organisers, the rally/get together will go on as per normal on the usual w/end albeit  smaller, destination has yet to be determined,,,

Toying with idea of maybe around Dubbo, Wellington area,  the caves may be a lot cheaper than the zoo, not set in stone yet

Agreed
not to mention Easter being the worst time to be on the road and all conceivable accommodation already booked out in a radius of anywhere convenient to Broadford

Okay, my thoughts on Broadford following further investigation. It really is a great Easter event. Plenty of stuff to see. but it`s really not a Rally venue and would not accommodate the rally spirit, Comraderie and XS talk. ...Too much going on in lots of directions and a difficult time of the year with holidays & blue enforcement.(IMHO)

Just got this.  ...More homework results to come. (had to double check it was about Broadford ,not Bathurst!...but that`s the 2015 Broadford theme!)
Hi Doug,
We are still mopping up the paperwork after the Easter event, and are well pleased with it. It was our best ever.
Glad you are keen, camping is (at the moment) $10 per head per night and first come first served, but there?s heaps of room.
2015 theme is 50 years of Bathurst, 1938-1988 and Rickman Metisse road and dirt; as well as ?cottage industry? English makes: Spondon, Seeley, Mead, Cheney, Wasp etc.

I had a bit of a look at accommodation around that area and could find Jack, Easter in 2015 falls on the first weekend in April, and as you say camping or camping, that doesn't come near  Michelle's standard that has been set and appreciated for the last 3 years, "NOT THAT I DON'T CAMP, I use to run the BMW Kosciusko Rally for a number of years" all's I'm saying it's a hard one to co-ordinate for about 20 people coming from all directions in our situation to a small place that is bombarded due to the popularity of the event, I even looked at accommodation 56K's away (meaning 112Ks to the event and back) and that was booked out.

But from what I've read and hear, what a great event  ;D AHHHHH Decisions.

Lou

Accommodation on initial enquiries seem to be.........camping at the event......or camping at the event.
Due to the popularity most town comfort stays are booked well in advance .
Maybe Dougs wish may come true with BBB there for those willing to rough it and enjoy what the event has to offer and options open for a separate Rally meet when and wherever.
