Hello.
I bought a 1979 XS1100 SF on a complete whim a month or so ago. Its the one thats in the ebay treasures section of this forum under (1979 xs11 SF special - Epping Vic.).
I purchased the bike knowing that it would need at least a new front tyre (done), new fork seals (just returned new seals and dust boots bought on ebay, wrong size) and a new left hand sidecover badge(will get one one day).
I took the bike for a tentative, gingerly (due to tyre, forks and no rego) test ride once it was delivered and thought it was o.k.
A mate who lives nearby who has a few xs11's dropped into check it out and pointed out immediately that it was running on 2 cylinders!.
He swapped the black ignition box over with a spare one he had and "ROAR"... firing on all fours....can't wait to fix the fork seals and get it registered and ride the thing.
Look forward to being part of this forum.
