Phil gave me a run down on the Overlander exhaust system, in plain English "CRAP" Don't waste your money.  F1 in Tamworth has a 4 into 1 system for $1100 but I'm trying to sick to the original. Heinz in Germany would be great but I'm so close I don't want to wait until March next year.

Any further updates/progress with Hi Tech Mufflers in Bathurst?
I've been riding Yamahas since 1976. Only other bike was a Honda CB900F 1978.
last bike ridden XS1100RH 83 1995 sold the bike to fund an O/S trip. Have a XS1100E for 12 yrs and ready to restore.

Mine has probably cost me the price of a new bike in bits and Mal's hard work BUT I now have a new XS1100 so for that I think it deserves a new original design s/s exhaust system to top it off.

Hey Ras,
$1500 Australian would probly get 1 XS that would possibly need a few extra dollars or time spent to be reliable and roadworthy
I paid $2500 on ebay for a basket case that had a used  original exhaust system in one of the boxes.

You could set up a little business sourcing original exhaust systems and exporting to us down here.....I'm sure you'd get some eager customers from this site

I'm getting a full s/s EXACT Yamaha copy full set from Germany under $1500
From Heinz Wyes

So what is a $ down there worth compared to our Canadian $ ? I see you guys say what sounds very expensive here but a monetary difference would be different as well. For $1500 (Canadian funds) I can probably buy 3 or 4 bikes and most times one of those would have a stock exhaust in good shape.
Not trying to be a smart ass or anything just wondering a few things as we are half a world apart.
78E, 79SF currently running and road ready.
1 more in the wings patiently waiting with a big bore kit already installed.

Hi Russel,
The only member that I know of that has dealt with Overlander is Phil (EXS1.1) who got a full system off them. Maybe PM him to get his opinion of the header quality?

Dropped of my header pipes to the shop in Bathurst, they wanted $1100. So has anyone brought header pipes from overlander?

Made this up myself. Not a copy of the standard system but it works and sounds great.  All I have to do now is pull it off, grind down the welds and paint it.

My 4-1 system doesn't seem to have any flat spot, maybe it's all the holes in it  ::)
I shoulda got you to give it some more stick when you had a ride Jonesy. By the time you see it again it should have the 4-2 and the 4-1 will be in the scrap bin  :-X

years ago I ran a similar system (2 X 2-1 with no balance pipe) and there was no flat spot which is the curse of the 4-1 system, I never had the opportunity to compare it with an original system but was happy with its performance.
