Thanks Scarfey     I got three from the states for $50 each and the final inlet from the Yamaha dealer for $80. Good to learn of BK Performance for next time. Rgds

Seems expensive for a few valves, can a machine shop help?

Hi Eddy          Yes I did see those and they look great. Its $400 for performance valves or $500 for a head. Still reckon there must be  some more standard valves out there as I got the last two for $22 each. I have already spent plenty on the head I have, so will keep searching and fork out the $400 as a last resort.

I cant find any inlet valves. There is a complete head in the states for $300 plus shipping. I think I may go this way in the absence of any better ideas. Will need to confirm if it matches.

Hi All
I started by replacing a head gasket and have bent 5 valves.
Its the 1980 1100 from "shaving the head" string.
I bought some valves from ebay germany but they dont have any more stock.
I cant work out if I bent them on start up as the carbs were stuck open and it blew out to 5k revs before I could shut it down.
Or would it still run being a tooth out on the cam chain? I cant see any contact marks on the valves or the pistons.
The machine shop replaced the valve stem seals when they shaved the head so they should have been straight when they put them back in.
Anyway - stiff shit - I now need more valves so would appreciate a source. I need 3 inlets and 1 exhaust.
I took the head back to the shop and got the valve seats machined as they were pitted and I could not quite lap it out.
I have to take any new valves back to the shop and get them "adjusted" so I am in the same ballpark with the shims.
We are going to get vic club rego for it if successful.               On it goes
