Jonesy - I totally agree with the tidy up remark....
I think the pipes would have fitted with it on had I persisted - I am happy with it off though -

TA DA  :D

Looking at them fitted, I think I may have panicked in removing the oil cooler etc

and the big plus is that I can remove my rear axle without removing the muffler
I've not started her yet

I totally agree Irish.....
My 4-2-1 system is coated using the HPC "brushed aluminium" finish  - looking a bit ordinary after 10 years but just much better
than any alternative without any doubt.

On motorbike header pipes there's never been an exhaust paint in all of history that didn't disintegrate and fall off before long, ceramic coating is the only way to go, it's rock hard and permanent.  I got mine done with HPC hypercoat years ago, still look pristine today, I sent the headers by post to HPC,  they give the pipes an acid bath first then coat them then send them back, took about a week or two,  cost about two hundy back then,  would be a bit pricier these days, but still worth it coz you don't worry about paint and rust or corrosion ever again

OK....an update on the Jardine system
I cleaned the pipes up ready for fresh paint...

painted them and cured the paint in the BBQ - as per directions on can (times and temp, not the BBQ bit)

that was the easy bit....fitting to the bike has proved a little more complex....
I was initially concerned about the Ryco oil filter fouling No 1 header....but as it turned out the right side oil cooler line stands further out from the frame than the left side and won't allow the No 4 header to sit in the correct position for the collectors anyway.

So - I remembered seeing a thread here about removal of the oil cooler, contacted Jonesy (thx mate) and have now removed both the Ryco filter assembly and the oil cooler assembly complete.
I will have to revert to the stock oil filter but no matter - this is this afternoon's and tomorrow's job....Once the Jardine is on, fresh oil, new rear tyre and I'll be good to go to BOURKE.... :D
