Hi Greg

Yes lots of memories, it was one of the best holidays I've ever had.

Don't worry too much about the engine, Mal assures me it will go back together quickly once he has all the bits.  I'll be back from Brisbane about the 9th or 10th, so it should be ready to put back in the frame, so Bourke is still a reality.

Cheers

Hi Everyone

Seeing Scarfey's thread and his new fairing and its similarity to mine I thought I'd go back into my photo archives to find some photos of my fairing when I was able to fit the bottom half as well, this was when I had standard exhaust pipes.  These photos were taken in Oct 1983 when the first wife and I were setting out from the NT on trip to Qld.  We were living in Arnhem Land at the time and had to drive about 100kms to reach the bitumen on the Roper Highway, now the dirt road was atrocious and we had to cross two major rivers on the way out, hence the ute in case any of you think I'm a bit soft, the last thing I wanted was to drown before the trip had even started.  :)

This next photo is a close up, I was about to take a friends kid for a ride around Townsville.

The full fairing was great and gave your legs a reasonable amount of protection from bad weather but was warm in summer especially in the NT.  The other downside is covering up a great looking engine, so I wasn't overly upset when I fitted the 4 into 1 system and had to leave off the bottom half.

By the way the trip we did lasted for 8 weeks, toured up and down the Qld coast, went as far north as Pt Douglas to Tweed Heads in the south, visiting friends and sight seeing in lots of places and spent time on an island in the Witsundays and a 5 day cruise out of Mackay, all in all a great trip.

Cheers
