This was run & won on 13th & 14th of Octo-beer.

Small list of starters, this year, as someone had confused the dates and a lot of the Griffith members had booked in to a rally in Victoria, only to later discover the error in the dates.  Ce la vie.  We had a good time anyway.

Saturday's ride was from our kick off point, at Wagga Motorcycles, to Kyeamba then Rosewood for a bit of morning tea, then back way around into Tumbarumba for some fuel and then head north west again, turning off through Humula to the lunch stop at Tarcutta Bowling Club.  A few votes in the various categories and everyone went their own way.

We ended up, that evening, in a function room at Romano's Hotel in WW.
Best Vintage / Outfit  / Combined age:
Mark's 1927 Harley Davidson J model

No photo, because Smugmug wont load the photo.

Best Pre-War Classic:
Another Mark's 1942 Indian Scout.  Significantly for the Club, this bike was restored by a long term Club member who passed away 112 months ago.  Mark bought the bike before Len's death and has done more work on it.  If memery serves correctly, it was 2 years ago that Len crashed the Indian, on this rally, and the hospital treatment from the prang lead to the discovery of his cancer.

Same, can't show you the photo of this bike.

Best Post-War Classic:
Bill's very recently finished 1946 Indian Chief:

Best Popular Classic:
Another Bill's very recently re-finished 1967 Bultaco Metralla Mk 2

Sunday morning, a quick check found a very lean mixture.  Pull out the slide, change the needle height & away we go.  Gotta love a two stroke, gotta love a single.

Best Cherished Classic:
Peter's 1974 Rickman Honda CR750/4

Lady Rider & First on Trailer:
Elaine with a 1981 Honda CX500C.  It spat out a water pump seal.

Bike of the Rally (committee choice):
Rob's '52 Matchless G9

I was 'wingman' (still in a sling) with Gaz in the back up car and we were kept quite busy.  Even before we actually started, we went back to my place, loaded two learner bikes and delivered them to the training range to replace two bikes that had been stolen (from an alarmed, double padlocked, security patrolled container).  What was fortunate was that we'd just replaced the two bikes that were at my place and they didn't steal the two new ones.

Our first stop was at the first proper hill, near Kyeamba.  A BSA 650 failed to proceed.  Quick plug change & it was away again.  At Rosewood, Rod couldn't stop the Suzuki, because the ignition key went west.  So Troy came to the rescue with one from his XJ900 and someone else, on a Honda, provided another key so that he could open the fuel cap and get it home.

Then Elaine's CX decided to blow the bladder.  ok, it was a water pump seal.  Ken wasn't looking forward to the 'engine out' repair.

Ups & downs through to Tumbarumba where Terry's BSA 650 decided it just didn't want to run.  Magneto problem that self rectified by the time we got to Tarcutta but re-appeared at Coolamon on Sunday morning.  I don't think there was a prize for "first on trailer, twice".

After lunch, John scored a flat rear on his Matchie and that was about the sum total of our dramas.

Great weather, nice roads, pleasant people.  And, with a smaller field of bikes it appeared that the average quality of the bikes was well up on previous years, especially those built prior to 1980.

And no XSs this year.
