I was hoping you could tell me. I got it off a Susuki at the wreckers and chopped it down lots of years ago. I had it on my CBX for a while. I cant even remember what the original looked like.

Hey Errol

You must be a mind reader I was going to ask the same thing, there is certainly a similarity between the two.

Looking very schmick, George!
Have to ask you what fairing that is.

Looks for all the world like an abbreviated version of a "La Parisienne" 3/4 fairing.

See the similarity in the shape of them?

There are a few workmanship issues with the amatuer paint job but all in all I'm happy with the outcome.

Comming on nicely Scarfey.

The worst thing about a new paint job is that you stand back with a couple of beers and say to yourself
"Mmmm, that bit of chrome there could do with a bit of a touch up" and
"Ooooh, wouldn't a new set of headers just finish it off nicely?" and
"Aaahhh, how would it look with set of whitewalls?" and
"Those black shockies, what about chrome eh?"

I've been down that road and I feel for you mate.

and see, a square object does fit in a round hole doesn't it :o :o

I always slide the forks through the brace a bit to  compensate for having my arse to close to the ground...The last XS I had slapped something chronic but that was due to the rear shocks being stuffed.

Scarf mate - that mod to the rear guard is the best thing to happen to these bikes for looks
and for ease of getting the rear wheel out....
It shouldn't slap if you drop the front on the forks - give it a bit of head down, bum up attitude.(a little at a time)
B ;)
mine is a bit knocked around at the moment as far as looks go.....but it is going great!

You know what they say Brian.. imitation is the best type of flattery.

I'm sure it won't be as good a job as yours.  But then again working on the old girl it's just therapy and practice for my attempt to re-paint my CBX which I stuffed up the first time.  Paint and my time are cheap My mates reckon I'll die when the old girl goes into a tank slapper and I'm hanging ono those short bars. Makes it hard to wheel around the shed I must admit  :-\

Didn't get what you meant at first then I noticed the bit of steel laying on the ground next to it, sure looks like a big side stand.
