do your self a favour and leave the rim locks out, just fill the hole with a bit of silastic and you'll never have an ounce of trouble

Thanks Errol that clears that up Im not to sure about just leaving holes there feel better if I can get replacements fitted or is it OK to run like this Im assuming there would be a inner tube fitted.

Hi Coopz. Those extra holes are for the bead locks which look similar to this.



They were fitted to these bikes to stop tyre creep on the rim due to the enormous power these Rh's developed.
Yours have obviously have been removed by someone frustrated by them when trying to fit a tyre onto the rim. Normally, the holes are then plugged with a dome headed bolt to fill the hole left.
Sometimes, they fit tubeless valve stems to all three holes and run the rear wheel tubeless, though I'd feel better with a good 'ol tube in there.

Hi all just starting on resto thought Id start with the wheels. Ive noticed on the rear two spare holes along with the normal valve stem. They dont appear to do anything and I cam feel rubber at the other end when I put a allen key in .What are they for didnt notice on my sons old bike as the wheels were all polished up. Coopz Also does anyone know of a 1981 being dismantled as I need side covers thanks in adfvance .
