Hi Edward. Glad to see you finally made it online. Welcome aboard, mate.

Regarding this plug fix, after checking what Peter mentioned about the stripped bolt, if ok then go with Jonesey's suggestion of leaving the tensioner in place and refitting the plug.
Make sure you clean the recess for the plug to get any oily residue out of the way, then apply a fine smear of sealant around the edge of the plug then tap it into position. That'll lessen the risk of it popping out again. You could also make one of Jonesey's patented wire loop retainers to make damned sure it can't come out again if you want absolute peace of mind.

BTW, made any progress with your RH? - CLICKY

just be carefully when that plug falls out,
when i have had that happen before the side bolt and nut have been slightly
stripped and allowed the adjuster to move slightly,
enough that the plug has popped out.

also if you over tighten the adjusting nut that can cause the bolt
to pull back on itself and not hold the adjuster strong enough.
hope that make sense  :-)

if you have never adjusted the cam chain before
make sure you read the manual, if you dont do it correctly
you can start to bend vavles.

welcome to the site ed

If it was just the plug that fell out, leave the old tensioner in place and just put the new plug in, unless your handy and know your way round an XS it is possible to upset the timing when the chain comes loose if you completely remove the tensioner. whichever way you choose to go you can make a little clip to stop the plug coming out again.

My  mate end up buying my old 78 h molder bike of me and it still on the road.
The black plug out of the front of the case chain adjuster fell out, and oil stared linking oil.
I whet on line C M S www.cmsnl.com and we got case (chain tensioner) and plug blind and gasket.
When the order arrived i looked at case and you can look few it which supriced me.
1  Install caseing & plug blind on the work bench, and the fit to bike?
2 All just put the new plug blind in caseing that's all ready on the bike ?

Its a new one for me, we would like this bike and like to stay on the road.
Any help will be greatly appisreated.
