hey Lou and Coopz,
both bikes  look really good,
i need to get my finger out and pretty my 1 up a bit.
ive got the original mirrors as melb said, theyre black chrome,
but mine were pitted and i ended up buffing and polishing them  up,
it lost a lot of the  black look, but polished up nicely.

Same as the fairing and mirrors on mine...... Think my mirrors have been painted. I am thinking of replacing the perspex on the fairing as it is showing its age now. Would be interested to know just how many are around like these as I seen one on ebay in Brissy a few months ago for around 3 grand I think
Those of you who have 1 with the fairing might be interested in these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/YAMAHA-XS1100-S-THE-BEST-PHOTO-QUALITY-FRIDGE-MAGNET_W0QQitemZ300403097862QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Clothing_Merchandise_Media?hash=item45f16b8106
can see I've got a way to go to get mine to look that good....congrats

Very nice looking bikes. Are the swirly wheels standard on the 1.1's or have they been donated by an XJ?

Standard on the RH.

Coopz bike has the original mirrors and they were actually black chrome. Unfortunately the black chrome is very fragile and rarely survived long.

The black chrome, square mirrors was a difference between the RH and the European Sport which had the same round mirrors as the likes of the RD400 etc.

Those fairings are outrageously rare. I found one on Ebay, but no brackets. I now have the main bracket, but I need to make all the small brackets.

Bike looks amazing!!!! VERY nice. Would like to know more about it.

When did you get it?
Mileage?
Looks 100% original except for mirrors and fairing.

Are the pipes new????

That'd be one of the very best in existence I'd say.

Thanks for the comment, I got the bike in June last year, covered in pine needles and sap, you wouldn't believe how much rubbing and scrubbing has been done, The pipes are original, and the bike is showing 33,475 on the clock, the mirrors are $2 special, to get me through rego this week, but I'd appreciate if someone could tell me if the originals were chrome or black, square or round as I'm taking this bike to the Japanese Vintage Annual rally this month in Healsville Victoria.
the bike was mainly complete and had a chrome Gearsack type thingy, which ment it had no  grab rails, thanks to Fungurous the ones I got from him polished up O.K.
Now where does one get a fairing?
Cheers

Lou

Damn That Thought I'd sent both sides, instead i've given you all a great right side view. I'll try another time, Thanks Brian, it sort of worked, but it was probably my fault, The CTRL click comes back with an error for some reason.
