XJR1200 carbs are better, the idle screw is easier to get to.
If you change to a Boyer ignition or one of the other new replacement units you don't need the vac advance.

Old BS36mm FJ carbs do fit,  they're the same spacing as XS11. Pretty much exactly the same design as the BS34's on the XS.  Won't be much improvement if any over the 34's. Also no vac connection spigot on carb 2 like on the 34's.   If wanting vac advance you'd need to connect thru a restricted manifold spigot connection.  Trying to drill a pinpoint hole thru No2 carb to it's butterfly is possible but would be bloody difficult to get exact and basically a waste of time anyway.  All it does is shut off the vac advance at idle as an emission control

Some advise from anyone please, am able to get a set of carbs from a FJ 1200, carbs are 36Y, would like to know if these fit our old beasts? cheers..

Hey Guys this came up on the XS1100 Australia facebook page and thought you would be interested to see



The new owner said it has 4000 miles on the clock.
Hmm just double checked he comes from Mexico, I thought it was in Aus looks like a great find though.
