I have an after market DID chain which is endless and I don't have a link.

Are there still new chains available with a split link?

First question, Eddy.
Have you got a chain with a rivet type joining link or do you have the genuine type endless chain?
If the latter case, do you have a replacement link for the chain if you split it?

ADVICE ON HOW TO REPLACE CAM CHAIN..
« Reply #1 on: September 21, 2012, 05:01:33 PM »
Hi folks,

Assistance /advice needed.

I am relacing the cam chain on the H engine.

First brainwave from me was to split the casings and insert the new chain.

Had a practice on an old engine and it was a real bitch to get apart and it is still sitting intact and unsplit. (unlike my skinned knuckes and bent screwdrivers.

I read on a couple of threads that some members have changed the cam chain "several" times and was looking for some useful tips on how to without splitting the cases.

Thanks

Eddy
