Thanks for the welcome Guys. I noticed there was at least one member not to far from me which is great.
I have set up a separate thread in Members Bikes that details what I know about the bike so far and I will keep that one updated for questions and progress.
Thanks again
Brett  ;D

Hi Bretts and welcome to the fold.
How does your new pride and joy perform at the moment?
Any issues are well documented and can be found either on this forum......the UK forum or the USA forum.
The search button is a great help for just about any issues you may have as well as direct inquiries online.
From what you say.....it sounds like this will be a keeper?
Soooooooooo....fire away.

Hi Guys

Some how I got it in my head that a classic bike would be a good project. I think I watched American Pickers once too much.
I thought of something earlier than the 70's but then started to like the Honda CB's. Thought a 1000 would be the bomb but out of my price range. Then I cam across this XS11. Did a little bit of research and found that they are a very good bike themselves. Infact some may say the planets where aligned the day they created this bike.

It should amuse some members to know that before this bike my entry into two wheeled road riding was a Honda 100 scooter at about age 40. It seemed like a great idea when one of the family cars was off the road for a stint.
I had not ridden bikes a great deal off the road before this either. The misses and I got the learners permit very easily through a loop hole that meant we only had to do a theory test. Then a year later we passed our practical.
I found I loved riding the scooter. Even the bagging I got the first day at work as a boilermaker did not deter me especially when I was the only one that could find a park down town at lunch break. The supervisor that rode a Harley taught me that we wave with your feet but don't do that on the scooter as you are liable to get ya head punched in LOL.
So now I am migrating from the scooter to what I see as a stomper of a bike.
I am a boiler maker that can handle a spanner but as far as bikes go it will be a steep learning curve when it comes to getting this guy shiny and puring.
So hopefully there are some patient members for my lots of questions  ;)
Kind regards
Brett
