The Midnights (LG & LH) did come with resistors.

Anyway, the resistor only comes into play once the bike has started so I doubt that's the problem, more likely to be your starter clutch.  :'(

Different ignition box and coils
The resistors in the standard are 1.5ohm and are just to reduced the current

does any one know of a reason  #1 why the M.N.S's didn't come out with the resistors

#2 is there any reason I can't put one on,,

the reason I ask is, I have fully stripped & rebuilt  #516 because it use to lock when the start button was hit,, anyhow with it having been pulled down, inspected and worn parts replaced, initial start up went great, turn her off then tried to start it again, yep, locks up

the only other thing I can think of is the resistor that allows the coils always to receive 6 volts to start, maybe this is whats missing

any help would be good TA
