like I said you tell me where and when and I make the ride.( so long as I don't kill the old girl in he meantime), I voted yes to both locations meaning I'm Not concerned with the destination. I know when so now I need to know where.

Well done to Paul and I think that the Bourke response is exceptional.
personally I like the idea, as all the way to Nth QLD is a little longer than a 3 or even 4 day adventure.
Like most of us, work , family etc etc gets in the road of our dreams, but short hauls can be done.
So anyway, its got my vote.
Well done Jonesy /Xtian.

Hi Paul, thank you for your email of a couple of weeks ago. Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you. Here is some additional information that may be of use. We would be very pleased to host your national meeting and if chosen I would work with you to put you in touch with all of the people and facilities needed. I would also be keen to discuss the different options with you and give you some feedback about what has worked well in the past. Bourke is quite used to hosting National gatherings given our location and I am sure that we would welcome you.
I look forward to talking with you further.

Hi
I’m contacting you  on behalf of the Yamaha XS 1100 club of Australia, We are presently in the early stages of organising an inaugural national meeting.

Early research shows that your shire is  relatively central to many of our members  in S.A. VIC, QLD and of course NSW.

Speaking on behalf of “The Club” we would be interested to hear if you, The Bourke shire  host any Bike or Car shows or other annual events of significance that we could plan around to coincide with our get together.
e presently have a 140 + member count  and I’m sure your  Chamber of commerce would welcome our patronage
At this stage we envisage convening  from a Friday to Sunday .
Your reply with any brochure material is most welcome
Thankyou
for and on behalf of the Yamaha XS 1100  club of Australia

Geoff,

Down in Victoria here we want a National Rally very much. For us though Bundaberg is probably a bit too far. 2,000km each way is 6 days of riding – any more than 8 hours (10 when you factor in lunch and a couple of fuel stops) a day and we’d be taking risks.  Add in 2 days of rally time and we’re all up for 8 days with some recovery needed on return. We all have jobs and family and most of us work for ourselves, so on those grounds alone we doubt there’d be many Victorians able to attend.

We can’t speak for the South Australians, but the same rules apply but with an additional 300km each way for them.

Surely if we are to have a National Rally it should be in a location that suits the largest number of owners and has been organised by a committee of owners from around Australia? While we will never suit everybody we should be able to suit many.

The discussion of a National Rally had progressed reasonably well in the other thread but perhaps we need to elect an organising committee from several states to get the ball really rolling. We can all put up suggestions for what a rally should/would look like, but it would be up to the committee to present us all with a unique location, with things to do, places to ride and food/drink to be consumed at wonderful pubs and an official T-Shirt to be worn with pride.

What we are trying to say is “GET YER GREASY HANDS OFF THE NATIONAL RALLY TITLE UNTIL IT’S BEEN DECREED AS SUCH BY A DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED COMMITTEE”.   ;) ;) ;)

Awseome!!
So that's a Saturday / Sunday. Does that mean we start arriving Friday afternoon for a few refreshments Friday night? Then some sort of group ride Saturday - although a lot of people would probably have done enough riding for a few days?? BBQ Sunday lunch then off home? Just some ideas / questions. Really looking forward to it!
