Still, I add about 30ml of Morey's upper cylinder lubricant to a tank full in the XS.  And I use 95RON.  Not that I have ever noticed any difference between 91, 95 or 98 in the performance that I get from anything I drive/ride.

Maybe i'm the perfect customer for the fuel companies, spending extra for no identifiable reason.

I don't trust alcohol fuel - too many people who have half a clue suggesting it does terrible things, especially to the ancilliary parts.
cheers

The Japanese were well ahead of their time and manufactured these bikes to run on unleaded fuel that was available overseas long before it ever became the norm here in Australia.
Do a quick seach on the topic in this and the other xs1100 forums........there s been discussion on this by similar inquiring minds.

Are any of you adding a little something to the fuel tank to make up for the lead thats been removed from petrol? or do you reckon these old elephants are bullet proof enough to  handle lead free fuel?
