Measure up the silencer diameter that you need and then keep an eye on EBay for one that will fit. You'll often see stuff that folk have taken off a near new bike to put on some $1k Delkevic job.

Same goes for 4-2 silencers. Loads of near new Harley ones out there that can be adapted.

BTW re painting. I paint my own bikes. I am fairly average at it but the result is generally passable

G'day Mike and welcome to our world.
Don't be worried about this forum thing. As Geoff said, you'll soon get the hang of it. I only joined up late May last year, and the info and knowledge I've gained is priceless, and my bike has really benefited from it.
There's a number of fellows on here who've got, or had outfits, who will gladly help point you in the right direction.
Have a good read through the existing threads. Lots of good stuff on here, and if you've got any questions, don't hesitate to ask, as the knowledge bank out there is really rich in experience, and very keen to help keep these beasts on the road for as long as possible

g'day Mark,, they are indeed brilliant outfit bikes,

if you check out "members" and look for "Scarfey", also in Canberra, he might be able to point you in the right direction having rebuilt a couple of his own,

the avon tyre is pretty much it with these size wheels, with out going to a major mod like the rear wheels

as for the silencer and pipes, I do know of Joes motorcycle wreckers down there, he might be able to help out with that,

always plenty to tinker with on these old girls,,

welcome to our rapidly growing group

don't worry,, it won't take long to get use to the forum thing :)

Greetings from Canberra

I have an Julyy 1981 XS1100RH fitted with a HJD Grand Rally Sidecar.

I have been riding other dirt and road bikes for about thirty years but never had a Chair puller.

The bike is is well set up as a sidecar and has been for at least 20 years. The good thing is that is complete with everything to go back to solo.

A couple of questions:
I want to give it a bit of a birthday and get the side covers and fairing repainted, so I am interested if anybody can recommend a painter in the ACT?

The front tyre is an AVON  and it is specioally for sidecar  use, but I am interested in an alternative, so any advice on brands etc is appreciated.

The 4 into 1 system is good until the "silencer" which is rubbish. Again, if anybody can recommed a place I can get the engine pipes treated /painted and a good silencer /can fitted, appreciate that.

I will post some photos in the next week or 10 days.

Regards
Mike
