Why do my rego papers have the model as XS1181A ? Anyone else have the same?

Yep mine is the same, must just be some sort of code used by RMS/RTA

We just use VIN and engine numbers - what else could you need eh!

Just checked my rego papers today and no reference to those numbers at all,
BUT, I am in QLD. ::)
