Hi all
Pretty happy with the bike, still in the fine tuning stage. virtually everything on the bike has been upgraded, rebuilt etc, except the charging system..originally i had 2 reg/recs. only 1 seems to work. but even that one shows battery voltage at between 13 and 13.2v while running doesnt matter what revs, and this is without headlight..if i use headlight,it drops to around 12.8v.this seems a little low? i tried a new ebay reg/rec and it only got to 12.8v.Also just sourced another original which also only gets to 12.8v. i have an instant readout on my aftermarket tacho.i have read that while running it should be up at around 14.5v.Also i run a lithium battery which likes to be between 13 and 14v
regards mark

ok,Update
since writing earlier post..i had the bike apart and tested everything...found a short to frame in charging circuit, which had blown a fuse. now seems to be working as it should..volts go up to 14.5v at 3000rpm..perfect..now to go for a ride and see.
wiring is very unusual on this bike and nothing like in the manual.

good to hear you sussed it out.
does your ebay one work now? If so do you have a link for the ebay rec/reg to share, I had a bad experience with the last 2 ebay rec/regs, first one let all the smoke out when I turned the key on, the replacement from same ebay dealer blew fuses on xtians bike. I sent it to xtian to do electrical checks (cos I dont know what I'm doing :) )
anyway I'd like to get one just to have on the shelf.
