Title: 1979 XS1100 Turbo
Post by: AussiXS11G on December 05, 2018, 08:24:00 AM
A mate has been cleaning up at home (wife's orders) and gave me a 1979 copy of Australian Motorcycle News featuring the XS11 Turbo

I scanned the article - it's 22mb, so it's within the dropbox folder below

Great read.
Guess I won't be installing a turbo on my XS11 now.
I wanted to until I read that article.
Unless, I could program the controller to spool up the turbo quickly for more low and mid grunt, and cut back on top end.

I think a Roots or Lysholm  would be more useful since I just want to get low end grunt like a V-Twin without running out of steam at 5000 RPM.

On the other hand, the XS11 is still a fast bike, stock, to this very day.
In the interest of prolonging my own existence, I think I'll save the forced induction for a slow bike or my car or truck.
Luckily, when it's running right (bloody carb issues), my XS11 has more power than I have the balls or space to use.
